A compact, lightweight, and notably affordable super-telephoto prime that uses a fixed f/11 aperture and a diffractive optics-style design to keep size and cost dramatically lower than Canon’s traditional 600mm lenses. Popular with birders and wildlife enthusiasts who want long reach in a lens that can be handheld and carried easily, at the trade-off of a slow, fixed aperture that limits low-light use.
