The EOS Digital Rebel was Canon’s first affordable digital SLR for mainstream buyers, built around a 6.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor with a 1.6x crop factor. It launched alongside the EF-S mount, so it accepts both EF and EF-S lenses with full electronic communication for autofocus and aperture control. Sold as the EOS Kiss Digital in Japan and the EOS 300D in Europe.
