Canon EF and Canon EF-S lenses can be used on Canon RF cameras with 3 official adapters (Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R, Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R and Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R). Our database lists 99 lenses (Canon EF and Canon EF-S) and 17 Canon RF cameras for this combination. Autofocus is supported.
Canon’s RF mount has a much shorter flange distance than the EF mount, so EF and EF-S lenses need an adapter on RF cameras. Canon’s Mount Adapter EF-EOS R is made for exactly this: Canon says it lets EF and EF-S lenses be used on EOS R cameras, with the same performance and functionality as on EOS DSLRs. Our database also lists two variants with a control ring and a drop-in filter slot. Below you will find the autofocus table, flange distances, and a note on possible vignetting when APS-C lenses are used on full-frame bodies. All figures come from our own database.
