The EOS-1Ds was Canon’s first full-frame DSLR, with an 11.1-megapixel CMOS sensor and a rugged professional body aimed at studio and landscape work. The full-frame sensor uses lenses at their true focal lengths (1.0x). It uses the EF mount with full electronic contacts, and EF-S lenses are not supported. Its 44 mm flange distance also allows adapted M42, Nikon F and Pentax K lenses to be used with manual focus.
